Private donations to the Louisville Free Public Library Foundation have funded millions of dollars in improvements to the library, including book purchases, technology upgrades, children’s programming, workforce learning, and librarian scholarships.
The Library Foundation is also instrumental in providing supplemental funding for many of the library’s capital projects. In the last few years alone, through the support of its generous donors, the Library Foundation has enhanced the book collections and has upgraded the technology and furnishings at the new Newburg branch, the new Fairdale branch building, the renovated and expanded Shawnee branch, and the renovated and restored Main Library.
The Library Foundation Board of Directors is committed to funding the Louisville Free Public Library programs and projects that make a good library a great library, and we remain grateful to the individuals, corporations, and foundations that share our commitment to the library’s mission.
